Treat your children to a fun, creative and healthy way to celebrate their birthday.  Finally, you can actually sit back and enjoy your child’s birthday party, and let us do all the work.

 

As a parent, it is always a challenge to keep your little one inspired and entertained! 

Owner and director of Studio Soma, Thalia Thomas, has spent the last 25 years planning parties for both adults and children.   Her inspiration for fitness parties came from her six year old daughter who loves to dance. 

 

Thalia Thomas has been a dance instructor of ballet, jazz, tap, modern, folk, ballroom and belly dance for 18 years teaching students ranging from 4 years old to 82 years old!  Her expertise in event coordinating has been called upon for parties ranging from weddings, birthdays, movie premieres and much more.  Thalia is a sucker for a great party!  She has combined her experience in both these fields and is so excited to share it with you and your children.

 

Our parties promote imagination and creativity through the use of dance movement, music, art and freedom of expression.  We create a nurturing, safe environment for children to feel comfortable and right at home!

 

Our energetic staff is certified in first aid and CPR and has been teaching dance to children for over 20 years.

 

Theatre and Dance is such an amazing way for children to improve their audio and visual skills.  During the party, we will teach them how to memorize routines, which promotes coordination and analytical thinking.  They will also have the opportunity to make a prop for the show they will present at the end of the party.  The children will also get the opportunity to choreograph their own part in the show. Performance plays a major role in both dance theatre and in life!  The show that we will present at the end of the party builds confidence and team work.

 

The birthday child will have their moment to shine as the star of the show and the grand finale will include the presentation of the birthday cake.

Our 800 square foot dance studio with hardwood floors, mirrors and ballet barres can accommodate up to 40 people.  We provide seating arrangements for both participants and observers. We also set up tables for food and beverage service and provide free parking.

Our capable staff will take care of everything.  All you need to do is show up, and have a great time.  We will set up the party, run it and break it down.

Generally, all our parties can be catered to whatever age group required, although we do recommend certain themes for the younger children.

 

Pricing:

Our 2 hour themed parties are a minimum of $695.00 for up to 15 children.  There is a $15 charge for each additional child (birthday child is FREE!). Children under 18 months will not be charged.   There is no charge for parents.  Our studio can accommodate up to 30 children and 10 adults (total of 40 people).  Gratuity is not included and not expected.  Our staff is paid a flat rate for the event by Studio Soma.  It is up to the individual whether or not you wish to leave gratuity.

 

 

Policies:

*    Total count for the party must be confirmed one week before the party date. The amount of the party remains the same even if you have less than 15 children.  A total head count will be taken the day of the party and additional fees will be added to total due.

*      You will be required to leave a 50% deposit for the party. This deposit is

non-refundable, UNLESS the party is cancelled one month prior to the party date.

*      The balance of the amount due is due on the day of the event.  We accept check, cash and all major credit cards.

*      There is a $20 returned check fee.

*      We do not allow fireworks, sparklers, ice cream, gum or alcohol at the event. Regular wax candles are permitted during the cake presentation.

*      Studio Soma does not have a kitchen available for food preparation, reheating or refrigeration.  No chaffing dishes permitted in studio.

*      No confetti permitted.

*      Studio Soma is not responsible for any lost or stolen items before, during or after the event.

*      You will be required to fill out a liability waiver.  This waiver releases Studio Soma of any liability in the event anyone in your party is hurt or suffers an injury.

*      Soma is not responsible for children who have been dropped off by their parents.  All children must have an adult assigned to them. 

*      All children must be escorted by an adult to the restrooms, which are located on the first floor of studio.

 

 

 

Party Times:

The party room is available up to 30 minutes in advance at no extra charge for set up and is also available thirty minutes after the party is over.  We cannot accommodate overtime.  We highly recommend opening presents at home to avoid using up your time at the studio.  This takes away from all the fun activities planned for your children.

 

We schedule parties based on your needs and our studio availability. 

 

 

 

Typical Party Itinerary:

 

10:30am to 10:45am        Guest arrival.  The instructor warms up the kids with light stretching and Pediatric Pilates mat work.  We mention on the invitation that guests should arrive on time so as not to miss out on any fun!

 

10:45am to 11:15am        Learn choreography for the show and allow the kids time to contribute to the creation of their production.

 

11:15am to 11:30am        Art and Craft Time - Make a prop for the show.

 

11:30pm to 11:45am        Serve Lunch

 

11:45am to 12:00pm        Hair, Makeup and Wardrobe

 

12:00pm to 12:15pm        SHOW TIME!!

 

12:15pm to 12:30pm        Cake service

 

 

 

Suggested Menu:

Our birthday packages include the choice of a hot lunch or a cold lunch. We also have adult food items that can be purchased for additional cost if you would like us to provide food for the parents and family. 

 

Note:  Food and Beverages are included in the entire cost of the party.  It is not necessary to bring your own food although you are welcome to.
